New York's Fleshtones spent the day canoeing down the Kishwaukee River, then managed to tear through a feverish set at the Blumen Garden that night. Talk about real men. Even through "Push Up Man" they appeared indefatigable. Set highlights included "Feel How to Feel", "Communication Breakdown", "Hitsburg USA", "Let's Go" and a particularly rare number "God Damn It". (At least that was the first time I had heard them play it live).
Always a fun time. And the club/garage was serving up special "Blue Whales" in honor of the band.
